HONEYWELL ALARM SYSTEMS: FAQ QUICK CHEAT SHEET FOR VISTA 20P FAQ QUICK CHEAT SHEET FOR LYNX 5210 My alarm is showing a Low Battery warning on the keypad. What should I do? If you have a low battery please make note of what the error says. Sometimes it helps to take a picture of it. There are two types of low battery alerts. One is to let you know that one of your doors, windows, motion detectors, or smoke alarms have a low battery that needs to be changed. The other is a SYSTEM LOW BATTERY which indicates that the main battery in the unit needs to be changed. Give us a call at 808-523-0121 to schedule a technician to come out and change the battery for you. There's a weird error on my keypad that I don't understand: First thing to do is to note what the keypad is saying. It helps to take a picture of the error or write it down. Sometimes the alert will clear if you enter your 4 digit code then the number 1 for off, the same way you would disarm your alarm system. Do this twice and check if the error has gone away. If it hasn't then please give us a call at 808-523-0121 for more instruction. My motion detector set my alarm off and nobody seems to have been home at the time. I don't see any evidence of a break in.: Here are some common reasons that motion detectors may be inadvertently set off without sensing an actual person: 1. Geckos, other insects, or pets - If a gecko walks across the face of the motion detector it may set off the alarm. Other pets (mainly cats) may jump or play close enough to the sensor to set it off. Modern motion detectors have pet immunity which disregards pets under 40 lbs. Bigger animals may give you false alarms. 2. Balloons, drapes or people passing by a window that is in view of the sensor may set off motion sensors. 3. Very hot rooms with sudden gusts of colder air (or the opposite) may trick the sensor into thinking a large figure is moving across the room.
